Indiana Central News ROSEDALE – A 6-year-old girl suffered serious chest injuries after being pinned underneath an ATV when it crashed into a creek this afternoon in Rosedale. According to Indiana Conservation Officer Max Winchell, the child initially was transported to a Terre Haute hospital and later flown to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis for medical treatment. The victim reportedly was wearing a helmet, which was slightly damaged. "The girl was operating a three- wheel ATV when she failed to negotiate a turn and drove the ATV over a steep embankment, approximately 20- feet down, into a creek," Winchell said. "The girl was pinned under the ATV for a short time until her mother lifted it and removed her." The crash, which occurred at about 2 p.m., remains under investigation. The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Otter Creek Fire Department, and Trans-Care Ambulance service and Indiana Conservation Officers assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
