Indiana Central News VERMILLION COUNTY -- A Terre Haute man and woman were extricated from a truck after it flipped off the roadway this afternoon --- just before dying from serious injuries suffered in the crash a short time later. Blondie King, 75, and his passenger Wanda Spence, 79, were both transferred to a local hospital, where they did not survive injuries suffered in the Vermillion County crash. Vermillion County Sheriff's Deputy Chad Hennis investigated the crash and noted that Seatbelts were not being used when the 2005 Chevrolet pick-up truck rolled over. Emergency crews responded to the single- vehicle rollover accident on S.R. 163 near Hazelbluff Road, east of the Clinton Walmart just before noon. According to the report, King was westbound on S.R. 163, when the vehicle exited the roadway, striking a guardrail and landing on the driver’s side on the concrete embankment . -- Clinton City Officer Brandon Mahady and Vermillion County Reserve Deputy Brian Fagg, Black Diamond and Clinton City Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
