![]() By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News An allegedly impaired driver is in jail after police say she crashed her vehicle into an above ground gas line, creating a potentially dangerous situation in the area this morning. Kayla S. Wilson, 23, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 1 p.m. She is charged with operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Terre Haute Police Department officers responded to the single-vehicle accident at N. 16th Street and Liberty Avenue around 10:30 a.m. No injuries were reported. According to the report, the vehicle struck the above ground gas line, causing a gas leak in the residential area . She reportedly also struck a Duke Energy utility pole. Officials asked residents to avoid the area while crews worked to repar equipment at the scene. The situation was resolved a short time later and police said it was safe for residents to return.
