![]() Detectives from the Terre Haute Police Department arrested a suspect in connection to the armed robbery that occurred early this morning at 2034 Second Avenue, according to Sgt. Michael Ellerman. Koty A. Wilkie,20, of Terre Haute, was taken into custody at about 1 p.m. He was booked into the Vigo County Jail, where he is charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily Injury, a level 2 felony and he is also charged with burglary to a dwelling where serious bodily injury occurs, a level 1 felony. Wilkie is scheduled to appear in Div. 6 Court tomorrow. See related story ![]() See updated story -- Police are looking for two armed robbery suspects who allegedly battered a man in his apartment early this morning, before taking several items and fleeing the scene. "He said when he answered the door, two white males wearing ski masks forced their way into the apartment. He said they battered him and took several items from him before fleeing from the scene on foot," Terre Haute Police Sgt. Michael Ellerman said this morning, noting that the victim was taken to an area hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. According to the report, officers of the THPD were called to the 2034 Second Avenue at around 2 a.m. on the report of a residential armed robbery . The victim reported that he was battered by the suspects when he responded to knocking on his door. A firearm was displayed. Responding officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects at the time of this incident. The male suspects are described as both being ages in their 20s. One is described as being approximately 5- feet 6-inches to 5- feet 9- inches tall with a stocky build . The other suspect is described as being 5 -feet 10- inches to 6- feet tall with a thin to medium build, Ellerman said. The Terre Haute Board of Public Works and Safety discussed settlement requests this afternoon during the meeting at City Hall. In considering two requests for settlement of Terre Haute Fire Department ambulance invoices, BPWS President Jon Stinson noted that the requests from attorneys are becoming "excessive" while containing limited financial information for the parties. "I understand that the person is without fault here, but I don't know if the city needs to eat those costs because we're not at fault either," Stinson said. ![]() Member Cary Sparks said he'd also like to see more financial information and whether or not the individuals are capable to pay the fees. He motioned in favor of tabling the requests and all members, including Stinson, Bob All, Jim Trimble and Roland Shetlon, voted in favor of waiting for additional information to take action. In other board business, City of Terre Haute Chief Planner Pat Martin updated the board on a property located 1807 Margaret Avenue that has been tied up with environmental testing. "We still haven't acquired the property; the property is still sitting in court," Martin said, explaining that further environmental testing is necessary with a cost is $1,500. The board approved the costs which will be covered by a Brownfield Program grant. -- In other BPWS business: The board opened proposals for financial lease for two dump trucks and will take the information, as provided by the two institutions, under advisement: Community Leasing Partners - Option 1) 5-year term, total financed of $294,200, interest 3.03 percent, total cost $319,397.85 Option; 2) 6-year term at 3.09 percent, total cost of lease $325,273.14 Option; 3) 7-year term, at 3.22 percent, total cost of $331,646.53 Riddell National Bank - Option 1) 5-year term, 3.15 percent interest, total interest $64,570.30; Option 2) 6-year term, 3.50 percent, total interest of $55,259.82 Option 3) 7-year term, 3.50 percent interest rate, total interest of $48,156.87.
