The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating a crash after a man was hospitalized with injuries he suffered when struck by a vehicle on the north side this afternoon.
Witnesses at the scene said a man was thrown from his yellow motorcycle when a gray passenger car struck him at the intersection of Collett and Lafayette Avenues just after 2 p.m. The victim was transported to an area hospital by Terre Haute Fire Department personnel. He reportedly appeared to have a broken leg and several lacerations, according to police scanner traffic. Crews remained at the scene to investigate and clear debris and blood from the roadway. UPDATE- Suspect identified ---Angela S. Keller, 45, of Terre Haute. was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 6:20 p.m. tonight in connection to the north side crash this afternoon. She is charged with possession of marijuana, operating a vehicle while intoxicated-prior conviction and possession of a schedule I-IV controlled substance.
-- A witnesses at the scene of an alleged drunk driving crash this afternoon in Terre Haute said a "highly intoxicated" woman was speeding through a red light just before hitting another SUV head-on just after 4 p.m. A woman was taken into police custody at the scene. Her identity and possible charges are not known at this time. All occupants refused medical treatment at the scene, one witness said. Terre Haute Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of North 13th and Locust Streets, were a white Chevrolet Trailblazer and a gold Chevrolet Equinox had both sustained heavy front- end damage in the crash. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. |
