A Terre Haute woman was transported to a local hospital after suffering injuries in a two-vehicle crash in southern Vigo County this afternoon.
The Vigo County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident at McDaniel Road and the US 641 bypass. According to the report, the four door black KIA driven by Susan Roshel, was traveling east on the off ramp of the US 641 bypass. When Roshel attempted to make a left hand turn, she allegedly failed to yield the right of way. Her vehicle was then reportedly struck on the driver's side of by a Red Volkswagen Beetle, driven by Terri Niebrugge, of Terre Haute. Chief Deputy John Moats noted that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash and air bags deployed. Assisting the VCSO: Honey Creek Fire Department, Riley Medic 51, Mike's Towing and Edington's Towing. ![]() UPDATE: According to Indiana State Police Sgt .Joe Watts, preliminary investigation revealed the 1998 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Cory Helton, 16. of Terre Haute, was traveling westbound on Dallas Drive and for an unknown reason, traveled off the roadway, struck a culvert, and rolled onto its side. Helton and his two passengers,Tyler Williams, 17, and Trevor Whitecotton, 16, both of Terre Haute, were hospitalized for possible internal injuries and complaint of pain. Williams was rescued from underneath the vehicle. --- Three people were inside a Jeep when it flipped over last night, resulting in one occupant being pinned beneath the vehicle. Emergency crews reportedly were able to free the victim in 20 minutes and he and the other male occupants were transported to a Terrre Haute Hospital for injuries suffered in the accident. Riley Fire Department was called to the scene of the single vehicle rollover crash on Dallas Drive west of Singhurst Street in southern Vigo County last night just after 10 p.m. According to the report, personnel found a Jeep had left the roadway and rolled over onto its side in the roadside ditch. Further information is not available at this time. Riley Fire Department was assisted by Honey Creek FD and Care Ambulance. The crash is being investigated by the Indiana State Police who were assisted by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office. |
