See related story -- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A 42-year-old man is dead and another man charged with voluntary manslaughter after a shooting at an apartment complex on Terre Haute's south side this evening. Tristin G. Spencer, 22, of 4275 S. Fifth ½ Street in the International Village Apartment complex, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 10:45 p.m., accused of Level 2 felony voluntary manslaughter. He remains held with no bond allowed. Vigo County Central dispatch reportedly received multiple calls of a person shot in the 4200 block of South Fifth Street in the International Village Apartments, around 5 p.m. The Vigo County Sheriff's Office reports that the victim also lived in the apartment complex, where he was fatally shot. The victim died a short time after being transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital emergency room, just after 5 p.m. His name has not been released at this time , pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for the victim tomorrow. Spencer is scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow, as well. More information will be provided once the investigation allows and interviews with witnesses are complete. Agencies at the scene were Vigo County Sheriff's Office, Honey Creek FD, Riley FD Medic and Vigo County . -- See related story

-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News Information is limited at this time -- however, a male victim has been hospitalized following a shooting at an apartment complex on Terre Haute's south side this evening. The Vigo County Sheriff's Office and Honey Creek Fire Department crews were dispatched to International Village Apartments around 5 p.m. on the report of the shooting. Neighbors standing around at the scene at about 8 p.m. told Indiana Central News the shooting allegedly involved dispute. Officials have not released information at this time in the investigation, and have not confirmed that account of the incident. VCSO Crime scene technicians remained at the scene several hours after the shooting to process the area. More information will be provided once it becomes available. |
