The Terre Haute Fire Department is investigating a Christmas Day fire that broke out in a southside apartment.
Several units were dispatched to the Lockport public housing units at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Neighbors at the scene said that the residents of the apartment all quickly evacuated unharmed when a second-floor fire started. The smell and sight of smoke in the neighborhood was thick as crews fought the fire. The firefighters had the fire under control by 10 p.m. ![]() Terre Haute Police are investigating an afternoon robbery at a CVS Pharmacy that happened on the north side of the city today. According to the report, the suspect demanded medications and then fled the scene on foot before police arrived just before 4 p.m. An employee of the pharmacy, located at 2021 Fort Harrison Road, informed officers that the white male suspect was about 6-feet tall and described him as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and ball cap, (acting) Chief of Police Shawn Keen stated in a press release. The suspect was also reportedly holding his hand in his pocket during the incident. Another CVS robbery, that occurred on South Ninth and Poplar Streets, happened two weeks ago. |
