UPDATE: Donald P. Murray, 40, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail Friday around 6:30 p.m.
-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was hospitalized after crashing a vehicle during a police pursuit across the city Friday afternoon. The driver --- whose name has yet to be released by the Terre Haute Police Department – suffered injuries after he crashed into a creek and then was fleeing officers on foot. Meanwhile, he has been charged with resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness, operator never licensed, reckless driving and a failure to appear warrant, according to the report. THPD officers initiated a traffic stop at N. 13th and Buckeye Streets around 4:30 p.m., for the active warrant. The driver fled in the vehicle. The pursuit ultimately ended near a subdivision north of E. Margaret Drive, when the suspect vehicle ran off the roadway. Police say he attempted to flee on foot and was quickly apprehended by a West Terre Haute Police K-9 --- who had arrived on scene to assist the THPD , along with other agencies. ![]() By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop on S. Indiana State Police Trooper Brad Fyfe was patrolling the area near Poplar Street, when he stopped the passenger vehicle for an equipment violation by a gas station around 10:30 p.m. After reportedly misleading officers on his identity, an identification card was found in the suspect's back pocket. ISP Sgt. Matt Ames said suspicious activity was detected. A K-9 check around the vehicle indicated an alert. Banghart was found to be in in possession of methamphetamine during a subsequent search of the vehicle, Ames said, noting that further investigation revealed the suspect had two active warrants for his arrest out of Vigo County.

Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested after reportedly being struck by a train Tuesday night. Guy M. Bosserman, 67, was booked into the Vigo County Jail just before 10 p.m. He is charged with felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor obstruction of traffic. Bosserman suffered minor injuries in the incident and was treated and released at a local hospital prior to being released to the jail. According to the Terre Haute Police Department, officers responded to S. 10th ½ and Poplar Streets on a report of a train hitting a pedestrian around 8:30 p.m. Police say Bosserman was standing close enough to the tracks during the incident, that he was struck on an arm by the moving train. "Upon further investigation it was found, that while waiving obscenities to the train from about a foot away from the tracks," he was struck, a spokesman for the THPD said. |
