Indiana Central News A Jasonville man is in jail on multiple charges after allegedly setting fire to a southside apartment building Saturday night. ![]()
Jestin L. Gregory, 33, was booked into the Vigo County Jail yesterday around 1:45 p.m. His charges include: Arson, burglary, criminal trespass and theft.
The joint Terre Haute Police Department and Terre Haute Fire Department investigation began when crews were dispatched to the second floor blaze at 115 S. 18th St. at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. It wasn't long after the fire was started that information came in leading to the suspect. "While crews were still on scene fighting the fire, Terre Haute Police Department officers were called to a retail store on Poplar Street where a man had entered the store with a backpack full of items, stating his house had been burned," Arson Investigator William Roberts said, adding that he [Gregory] had allegedly taken itmes from the store. The fire reportedly was ruled arson after completion of the initial investigation. Comments are closed.
