UPDATE: All charges against Jack Tanner have been dismissed.
-- Correction: The initial hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m., before Judge Sarah Mullican. -- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News Three Terre Haute residents, including the director of a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, were booked into the Vigo County Jail early this morning on drug-related charges following a motel room search. The suspects include:
According to the probable cause affidavit, prepared by THPD Officer Steve Lockard, police were dispatched to the Red Roof Inn on S. US 41 on several complaints of noise, heavy foot traffic in and out and smoking in a non-smoking room. The night manager reportedly told police that Jamie, visibly pregnant, was seen outside earlier and appeared to be under the influence of drugs. When uniformed officers of the THPD knocked on the door registered to "Jake Tanner," Ginny reportedly answered. Tanner was inside and said,"Come on in, guys." He introduced himself as the Jack Tanner, director of Freebirds Solution Center in Terre Haute. All three suspects reportedly signed a form consenting to a search of the room after Tanner explained that he was helping the women, who reportedly had no other place to go. He also informed officers that Jamie was seeking rehab placement. "Detective Bourbeau was searching in the area of the bed, where Ginny Brandenburg was seated, at which time Ginny attempted to place a small corner cut baggie into her mouth. Det. Bourbeau grabbed hold of Ginny's hands and was able to prevent her from ingesting the item,” the documents state, noting that the substances found tested positive for meth. Also found in the room, according to the court documents:
Tanner was released from custody after posting 10 percent of $10,000 bail. He is set to appear in Division 3 Circuit Court Wednesday at 10 a.m. The two other suspects remain held in the jail and are also set to appear in court Monday. Comments are closed.
