The Terre Haute Board of Public Works and Safety started off its meeting yesterday by opening construction bids for upcoming sidewalk projects.
All board members were present, with the exception of Bob All. Members attending the meeting included President Jon Stinson, Cary Sparks, James Trimble and Roland Shelton. The members opted to take the three sidewalk bids under advisement, which included the following bidders:
ICN will provide a complete list of locations for sidewallks to be addressed in the new order once the board approves a bid. In other business, the board approved the following:
"It takes a long time and a lot of man hours to test all of our fire hoses," Fisher said. Stinson responded that it totals about 40,000 feet of hoses and asked the chief if the department can afford the service. Fisher responded in the affirmative.
In other business, the board did not approve: A settlement request regarding the Terre Haute Fire Department ambulance service. Sparks motioned against the request based on limited information provided. ICN asked BPWS administator Robin Drummy for more information on the settlement request and has yet to receive that information at this time. Fisher told the board that it was the first time he'd heard of the request, so he could not comment at the time. Comments are closed.
