Indiana Central News A close call with a police car late last night in Terre Haute landed one man in jail on drunk driving charges. Jeffrey Rohrer, 59, of Montgomery, was booked into the Vigo County jail around 12:40 a.m. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated (prior) - a Class 6 felony and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangering a person - a Class C misdemeanor. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames explained that the suspect was stopped for disregarding a stop sign after nearly striking a state police commission at First Street and Sycamore Street just, before midnight. Trooper Gerald Stump noticed possible signs of impairment while speaking with Rohrer. His blood alcohol content was .11 percent. Comments are closed.
