Indiana Central News A semi rollover crash on N. US 41 near Evans Avenue in Vigo County resulted in nine cows dying and dozens more escaping the wreckage of the trailer they were hauled in last night. According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts, Michael D. Gibson, 32,of Paris, Ky., was northbound in a 2003 Peterbuilt tractor, pulling a stock trailer loaded with 63 head of cattle en route to Iowa. He failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and rolled over, Watts said, adding that Gibson was reportedly attempting to slow for a slowing or stopping northbound passenger car. The surviving cattle were rounded up at various locations surrounding the crash scene. The crash was investigated by ISP Trooper Mike Laney. Assisting were the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Vigo County Emergency Management, Vigo County Highway Department, Otter Creek Fire/Rescue and Trans Care EMS. -- See related story Comments are closed.
