![]() Kevin L. Horton, 27, of Terre Haute, suffered non life-threatening injuries when a pick-up truck struck him as he was making deliveries downtown this afternoon. Terre Haute Police Department officers responded to the report of a car versus pedestrian accident in the 600 block of Wabash Avenue. According to Sgt. Michael Ellerman, witnesses at the scene told police officers they noticed Horton standing behind his delivery truck, which was parked facing eastbound in the middle of Wabash Avenue, in front of Terre Haute First Financial Bank. Horton was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital by the Terre Haute Fire Department for observation. "Witnesses said that Mr. Horton quickly ran out from behind his truck, northbound into the westbound lane of Wabash. A Ford pick-up truck was traveling westbound and slammed on their brakes but couldn’t avoid hitting Mr. Horton," Ellerman said, noting that he driver of the pick-up truck was not found to be at fault in this accident.
