-- Terre Haute Police detectives believe two separate armed robberies today have one thing in common: The suspect. Upon their arrival at the China Garden restaurant located at 1335 Wabash Avenue, officers were informed that a black male, thin build had just came into the restaurant and demanded money while pointing a firearm just before 11 a.m., Sgt. Denzil Lewis stated in a press release. "The suspect fled out the back door with an undisclosed amount of cash," Lewis said. About an hour later, at noon, police were called to Zoop’s restaurant at 2626 S. Seventh St., on another robbery call. Upon their arrival, officers were reportedly told that a suspect matching the earlier description had entered the restaurant from the back door. "The suspect held the employee at gunpoint and demanded money. The suspect struck an employee with the weapon. The suspect fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of money," Lewis said, adding that detectives have reason to believe that both robberies are connected. Comments are closed.
