Indiana Central News Throughout the three -day diesel truck event last weekend, Indiana Excise Police officers cited or arrested 129 people whom now face more than 150 charges in all. Excise Officers worked with Vigo County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds and surrounding areas during the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza in Terre Haute. In a press release, Superintendent Matt Strittmatter said the potential for catastrophic consequences is high when alcohol is consumed by minors or is combined with the operation of motor vehicles. “As with other large events across the state where alcoholic beverages seem to be consumed in large quantities, the Indiana State Excise Police have a responsibility to ensure public safety by enforcing Indiana’s alcoholic beverage laws and other state laws,” he said.
