By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested on multiple charges after his car got stopped in the snow during a police pursuit on the city's south side Thursday night. Quinn Martin II, 24, was booked into the Vigo County Jail and charged with the following:
Martin was taken into custody after eventually getting stuck in the snow at an unplowed intersection near a housing complex, Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said, noting the suspect was also found to be wanted on multiple warrants. Speeds reached just under 100 mph. "The pursuit traveled through several city streets with the driver disregarding stop signs and traffic lights," Ames added. According to the report, the pursuit began when ISP Putnamville Trooper Brad Fyfe was patrolling on US 41 near Hulman Street. He initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle for an equipment violation around 10:30 p.m. Once stopped in the snow at the intersection of Wheeler Avenue and Krumbhaar, police were able to take the suspect into custody. Martin reportedly appeared to be impaired at the scene, but refused to submit to a certified chemical test. -- Assisting: Several Troopers from the Putnamville State Police Post, Vigo County Sheriff's Department, Terre Haute Police Department and West Terre Haute Police Department.
