Indiana Central News A trucker hauling a heavy load of cement was arrested for drinking and driving this afternoon on Interstate 70 in Vigo County following a traffic stop. Omar Gomez, 48, of Northglenn, Colo., appeared to be impaired. He was given a breath test, in which he tested .08 percent BAC. He was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 5 p.m., where he is charged with operating while intoxicated. Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts explained that Master Trooper Jason Owen stopped the 2014 International tractor pulling a box trailer on westbound Interstate 70 near the three mile marker for speeding. The heavy contents were a concern along with impairment of the driver. "The trailer was loaded with 43,000 pounds of cement," Watts said. Comments are closed.
