Indiana Central News An Indiana State Police drug investigation has landed a Terre Haute man behind bars tonight. Benjamin M. Hayes, 27, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at around 7 p.m. He faces multiple charges, including: Dealing a schedule IV controlled substance; manufacturing a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance; dealing a controlled substance; and maintaining a common nuisance. According to Sgt. Joe Watts, members of the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section and the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Team served a Vigo County Superior Court Div. 6 search warrant on Hayes at his residence, 3570 N. Smith St. this evening. "During a search of the residence, investigators located numerous suspected controlled substance pills, a pill press for alleged manufacturing, computer equipment suspected to be part of the allegations and various packaging materials related to the alleged illegal activity," Watts said, noting the investigators were following up on recent community tips.
