A 19-year-old Terre Haute man was booked into the Vigo County Jail tonight on drug-related charges after a traffic stop netted $1,000 worth of marijuana.
Logan Tyler Nees was taken into custody at about 8 p.m. He is charged with: Possession of marijuana; possession of paraphernalia; and operating while intoxicated--controlled substance. Indiana State Police Trooper Michael Organ reportedly stopped the white 1999 Honda CRV for an expired registration plate on Sixth Street, just south of Ohio Street. According to ISP Sgt. Joe Watts, the trooper quickly noticed criminal indicators. Trooper Ian Portteus and K-9, Czar, arrived and a positive indication for illegal drugs was given by Czar. "A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded approximately one-quarter pound or more of suspected marijuana and assorted paraphernalia in the glove compartment of the Honda," Watts said, noting that a 17-year-old female passenger in the vehicle was cited and released for minor in possession of tobacco products. The case was investigated by ISP Trooper Michael Organ. Assisting were ISP Trooper Ian Portteus and “Czar”, and Troopers Tim Rader, David Petrowski, and Brad Miller. Comments are closed.
