Indiana Central News An Indiana State Police investigation has resulted in the arrest of a former Indiana man today accused of voting violations after he relocated to Illinois several years ago. Jerome D. Kesler, 61, currently of Paris, Ill. is facing two counts of voting outside precinct residence, both Class D felonies. He currently is listed on The Vigo County website as deputy director of planning for the Emergency Management Agency. According to ISP Sgt. Joe Watts, Kesler turned himself into ISP at the Vigo County Jail today , just after a warrant was issued for his arrest. "He later bonded out on 10 percent of a $5,000 bond,," Watts said. Seven years ago, Kesler reportedly moved from his Vigo County residence to a residence in Edgar County, Ill. Although he moved, he allegedly continued to cast votes in Vigo County primary and general elections from 2010 through 2014, Watts explained. -- The case was investigated by ISP Detective Tony Guinn. Assisting was the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office. For more on voting and election laws, see USA.gov Comments are closed.
