Indiana Central News A Bakersfield, California truck driver was arrested on felony drug charges following an inspection in Vigo County this morning. Ravninder Singh Kaler, 22, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around noon. He is charged with dealing narcotics and possession of narcotics. He remains held without bond and is set to appear in Div. 5 Court tomorrow. Kaler was enroute to Ohio with a load of aluminum crates. Inspection of his trailer revealed it contained an esstimated street value of illegal drugs worth about $5 million stashed inside travel bags, including:
An Indiana State Police Trooper with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement stopped the tractor-trailer at the eastbound scales, located at the 1 mile-marker, for a routine Department of Transportation inspection around 10:30 a.m. Senior Trooper B.J. Patterson explained that the trooper noticed several criminal indicators as he spoke with the driver. Kaler reportedly consented to the search. Comments are closed.
