UPDATE - Marquis Martin, 41, of Gary was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 5:30 p.m. on rape and criminal confinement, battery on person less than 14-years-old,auto theft and leaving the scene of property damage accident charges following the earlier stabbing incident at the bus terminal.
--- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A large police presence is in the area of the Indiana State University campus this afternoon following a stabbing. The ISU Police Department issued a campus alert that a domestic disturbance investigation is underway after an incident occurred at the Terre Haute Transit facility located on the lower level of the Cherry Street Parking Garage, Eighth Street side. ISU Police responded to the scene just before 1 p.m. "The fight involved three persons, two males and one female, none affiliated with ISU. One is reporting a non-life threatening puncture wound and is currently being hospitalized," the press release states, adding a suspect has been taken into custody. According to scanner traffic, an alleged stolen vehicle had also been reported in the area of North Sixth and Elm Streets involving a silver passenger car;police were also investigating a crash with vehicles at the same scene on Eighth Street. More information will be provided once it becomes available. Officials say there is no threat to the ISU community. Terre Haute Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
