Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man is in jail after allegedly stabbing another man at a local motel early yesterday morning. Michael J. Byrer, 31, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 2 a.m. He is charged with aggravated battery and residential entry. "The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was in stable condition," according to the Terre Haute Police Department. Terre Haute police, Vigo Sheriff's deputies and Terre Haute Fire Department medics responded to the Motel 6, located near Honey Creek Mall, around 1 a.m. on the report of a stabbing. According to scanner traffic, the victim suffered a wound to the chest. Byrer remains held in the jail under $75,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed. His initial court appearance is set for Friday morning in Div. 3 Circuit Court. -- See related story Comments are closed.
