Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested after a foot chase on the city's south side last night. ![]()
Corey A. Akons, 33, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 12:40 a.m. He is charged with resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license and operating while intoxicated.
Officer Kurt Brinegar, of the Terre Haute Police Department, responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at S. First and Hulman Streets just before midnight. Upon his arrival, the suspect immediately fled on foot. At one point in the foot chase, Brinegar was able to get ahold of the fleeing suspect's jacket, which Akons reportedly was able to slip out of and continue running, according to scanner traffic. After a chase spanning several blocks,and with assistance of oher arriiving officers, Akons was taken into custody near a church in the 1800 block of Harding Avenue. Akons was released on his own recognizance after appearing in court this morning. He is scheduled to appear in Div.5 Court May 3. Comments are closed.
