Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested yesterday after a woman reported to police that the suspect had raped her at his northside residence. Chad A. Vicars, 33, was booked into the Vigo County Jail just before 4 p.m. He is charged with rape - a level 3 felony and sexual battery - a level 6 felony. According to the probable cause affidavit, prepared by Det. Starla Neidigh, of the Terre Haute Police Department, the woman periodically stayed at the N. Third Street residence. The incident allegedly happened recently while she was sleeping on a bed in the basement sometime after 10:30 p.m. She was awakened by the voice of the suspect --whom she reportedly had been friends with since middle school and with whom she had not had a prior sexual relationship. "She noticed one of her pant legs was pulled down, and that the suspect had his penis inside of her vagina," the documents state. The victim reportedly yelled at the victim to stop, and he immediately stopped. The victim then called a friend for a ride to another friend's home, whom then called the police and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for an examination, according to the documents. Vicars is schedule to appear in Div. 6 Court Tuesday and remains held on $50,000 bond, no10 percent allowed. Comments are closed.
