Indiana Central News A Brazil man was arrested on drunk driving charges following a traffic stop in Terre Haute yesterday. Orelius T. Barnett III, 34, was booked into the Vigo County Jail for driving while intoxicated with a passenger less than 18 years of age, a Class 6 felony; driving while intoxicated with a BAC .15% or more, a Class A misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated - endangering a person, a Class C misdemeanor. A state trooper initiated a traffic stop on the suspect for failure to signal near SR 46 and Village Drive around 7:30 p.m. Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames explained that, during conversation with the driver, Barnett showed signs of being intoxicated and , in fact, had a blood alcohol content of .33 percent. Ames added that a thirteen-year old boy and Barnett’s girlfriend were passengers in the vehicle. Barnett is currently being held without bond. Comments are closed.
