Indiana Central News A Terre Haute Police Department kidnapping investigation ended peacefully last night, with the missing young child returned safely to her mother and the suspect taken into custody.
Kyle S. Shultz, 24, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 1 a.m. He is charged with domestic battery in the presence of a child, kidnapping and possession of marijuana. He remains held on $20,000 no 10 percent allowed.
The 4-year-old girl was reported as missing from where she was last seen in the front yard of a residence near N. 21st and Fifth Avenue around 8:45 p.m. According to Assistant Chief Shawn Keen, Shultz, a male acquantance of the mother, allegedly took the child from her residence without permission. "Shultz did not have permission to leave with [the child] and was observed to be under the influence at the time of her disappearance," Keen said. Comments are closed.
