![]() A Terre Haute man who recently alleged he was the victim of an armed robbery on the south side has been arrested on a felony charge of obstruction of justice. According to Terre Haute Police Department Sgt. Michael Ellerman, the alleged victim of the robbery, Jonathan A. McKannan, 26, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at 4:30 p.m. today after it turned out the story was fabricated. “Based on video evidence, witness statements and statements made by the reported victim (Mckannan), it was determined that McKannan had made a false report and that no armed robbery had taken place in this incident,” Ellerman explained in a press release this evening. McKannan had claimed the robbery happened while he was walking near South Fifth and Swan Streets on Jan. 20, reportedly alleging a duffle bag and its contents were stolen at gunpoint. Mckannan is scheduled to appear in Vigo County Div. 6 Court. Comments are closed.
