Man faces multiple charges after police pursuit in stolen car

One man is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit in an allegeldy stolen vehicle in Terre Haute Thursday afternoon.

Stuart J. D’Angelo, 34, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 3:20 p.m. He is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of resisting law enforcement, battery against a public safety officer, criminal recklessness and dealing in a scheduled drug.

Terre Haute Police Department officers were dispatched to McDonalds restaurant at S.Third and Poplar Streets on a report of a stolen vehicle at about 2:15 p.m.

When police located the red Kia passenger car, the suspect fled the scene. A pursuit ensued. 

According to the report, the suspect was ultimately apprehended in the area of Margaret Avenue and Jackson Streets in a residential area, where he had struck a parked vehicle. D'Angelo was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
