Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested on domestic battery charges Wednesday after his ex-girlfriend told police he purposely crashed into her car last week. Dustin J. Milligan, 34, was booked into the VIgo County Jail Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. Milligan was arrested on a warrant for intimidation, two counts of invasion of privacy, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of a crime, criminal mischief, and leaving the scene of a crash. He was released after posting bond the following day and back to running his Facebook page, Terre Haute Vice News -- in which he is known locally for his video footage of local police. He addressed the THPD: "You have unlawfully taken my news gathering equipment, and want the password to my phone so you can access my anonymous sources," he complained, while sharing the THPD post announcing his arrest on the agency's Facebook page from Wednesday. Meanwhile, Milligan's charges from Wednesday are not related to his work as a journalist. According to the probabable cause affidavit, filed by THPD Detective Mark Minnick, the investigation began when Milligan's ex-girlfriend alleged he had recently followed her in his black Ford Mustang during the early morning hours. Ultimately, he allegedly became violent. Initially, that morning, Milligan cut out in front of her white Pontiac Grand Prix in an aggressive manner , she told officers. In fact, she alleges he then slammed on his brakes at the intersection of S. 19th and Hulman Streets, causing her to strike his bumper. She reported that he quickly put his vehicle in reverse and repeatedly rammed her front bumper. When she tried to drive away, he continued to follow, according to the court documents. The victim said she pulled over near Putnam Street. Dustin again pulled in front of her vehicle Finally, she told him she was calling the police. He confronted her, allegedly holding a knife. Milligan parked his car half block north and allegedly came back over to her car to vandalize it, calling her derogatory names. "He began puncturing her tires, while calling her a 'whore, ' acccording to the affidavit. Milligan allegedly grabbed her cell phone and then forced her out of the car. "[She] said Dustin then grabbed her by the arm and threw her to the sidewalk, where she hit the right side of her cheek," the documents state, noting that swelling was observed to her face and she had reported being in pain.
