Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man wanted on a arrest warrant was taken into custody following a police pursuit this afternoon. Nathanial Wells,35, was transported to a local hospital for treatment after being apprehended by a K9 a short time later. He faces multiple charges, including vehicle theft, felony resisting, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and the arrest warrant. According to the report, a Vigo County Sheriff’s deputy recognized the waned suspect and attempted to make a traffic stop on the silver Mercedes Benz in the area of S.13th and Poplar streets around 3:30 p.m. Sheriff John Plasse notes that the vehicle also displayed false and fictitious license plates. Wells fled from the officer, refusing to stop. "The pursuit continued for several miles going to the south and then back to the north, traveling in the county and city," Plasse said. Stop sticks were deployed at S. 25th and Margaret Avenue. The suspect’s vehicle became disabled and stopped in the area of S. 27th Street and Washington Avenue. Wells then reportedly fled on foot, when he was captured by the Sheriff’s K9. Terre Haute Police Department assisted VCSO deputies. Comments are closed.
