Indiana Central News A motorcyclist is dead and his passenger seriously injured after crashing into the back of a police vehicle in Terre Haute Tuesday evening. Jack D. Beegle, 27, of Terre Haute, was transported to a local hospital, where he died a short time later. The passenger, Brittany Marie Rose Waggoner, 28, also of Terre Haute, was transported to a nearby hospital and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. According to the report, Indiana State Police Trooper Colton Maynor was parked at the entrance of the Vigo County Fairgrounds on S. US 41, when he observed the motorcycle weaving in and out of traffic, speeding. Beegle disregarded the trooper's siren and emergency lights and continued traveling southbound at a high rate of speed, according to ISP Sgt. Matt Ames. The pursuit was called off at 56th Drive, just before the motorcycle slammed into the rear of the fully marked Vigo County Sheriff's Department vehicle. David G. McAdams, a three - year merit Deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department was transported for a medical check at the hospital and released, Ames said. The ISP crash investigation is ongoing. Honey Creek Fire Department and Trans Care ambulance assisted at the scene. Comments are closed.
