Distraught family members were at the scene of a serious northside crash this afternoon in Terre Haute as emergency crews worked to assist the young victims.
The Terre Haute Police Department is investigating the one- vehicle crash that injured four teenage girls reportedly between the ages 14 and 17 years old. The victims were transported by Terre Haute Fire Department crews to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. At least one passenger was extricated from the white passenger car. A crash witness at the scene of North 26th Street near Maple Avenue said he noticed the driver speeding "at about 100 miles-per-hour" before she ran off the roadway, plowing into a small tree, trash containers and finally into parked pick-up truck at about 1 p.m. The vehicle appeared to be totaled.
