-- UPDATE- The Terre Haute Police Deparment released information this morning concerning the murder charge for Nathan Epple.. A battery occurred on Friday. The victim died from the injuries Sunday. leading to a homicide investigation, according to the THPD. Epple was arrested for murder and robbery resulting in bodily injury. No further information has been released at this time. --- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News Developing: A local man with a lengthy criminal history of theft and violence, now faces a murder charge, according to jail records. Nathan W. Epple, 26, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Knightsville, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 10 p.m. yesterday. His multiple charges include: Murder, robbery, resisting law enforcement, theft, robbery while armed with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily injury and false informing. This is a developing story. More information will be provided as it becomes available. However, it is known that the suspect was arrested following a series of robberies on Terre Haute's north side in November of 2017. Witnesses reported the suspect was armed with a knife in each incident. Epple was found a short time later in a garage on Spang Avenue, with a knife near him. Terre Haute Police Department investigated the residential and gas station robberies at that time and arrested Epple. He ultimately was ordered to live at the Odyssey House on S. US 41. He recently ran from the facility. In fact, a warrant for Epple's arrest was issued Aug. 28, after he left the Odyssey House --where he was court ordered to reside while awaiting trial --and never returned.
