Indiana Central News A Terre Haute woman wanted on a warrant for her alleged involvement in a sexual relationship with a high school student is due to appear in court this morning. Gina N. Richey, 35, turned herself in to the Vigo County Sheriff's Office yesterday. Richey is charged with two counts of child seduction - child care worker in sexual intercourse or other sexual conduct, a level 5 felony. She was booked into the jail around 3:30 p.m. and released on bail a short time later. Vigo Co. Sheriff John Plasse said it appears the relationship had been going on for a length of time. "The charges in this case allege that Richey, a teacher at Rosedale Elementary, was having a sexual relationship with a student from Riverton Parke High School," he said. The Parke County Sheriff's Office initiated the investigation last month because the alleged relationship involved a Riverton Parke High School student. Meanwhile, investigation revealed the alleged sexual activity took place in Vigo County and the investigation was then transferred to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office. Richey has since resigned from her teaching position. Comments are closed.
