![]() By Lucy Perry News Writer Indiana Central News An Indianapolis man is in jail following an early morning police pursuit in Terre Haute Sunday. Devon R. Carney, 31, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 7 a.m. He is charged with:
A pursuit ensued, when the suspect reportedly reached speeds of 100 mph along Third Street and Margaret Avenue. He continued driving erratically, heading westbound to First Street. Ultimately, stop sticks were deployed in the area of Cherry Street. The suspect continued to evade police, heading northbound towards Locust Street before abruptly changing directions and traveling southbound on Third Street. All tires were flat and one tire reportedly fell off the car by the time officers were able to apprehend Carney at Third and Sycamore Streets, near the Indiana State University campus. Carney was transported to a local hospital prior to be taken to the jail. Multiple agencies assisted THPD in the pursuit, including Indiana State University Police, Vigo County Sheriff's Office and the West Terre Haute Police Department. Comments are closed.
