Pedestrian hit, killed by pickup truck on US 150 in Vigo County

A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle early this morning in northwestern Vigo County.

The pedestrian is identified as Jennifer Jackson, 31, of West Terre Haute. She was pronounced dead the scene.

​Officials say the driver of the pickup truck, Tim Boone, 41, also of West Terre Haute, was unable to avoid striking Jackson when she ran into the roadway for unknown reasons. Boone was not injured.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency crews were dispatched to US 150 in Shirkieville,  to the pickup truck/pedestrian accident just after 4 a.m.

Toxicology results were negative for Boone and toxicology results are still pending for Jackson, according to the report. 

The VCSO investigation is ongoing. Members of the Vigo County Fatal Crash team were  called to the scene to assist in the crash investigation.
