Indiana Central News A plea agreement is on the table now on the case involving a Terre Haute man who allegedly continued to have unprotected sex with several partners while officials say he knowingly had HIV. Isiah C. Benford, 32, has been facing the allegations of transmitting the disease to multiple partners since June 2015. As more information became available on the case, Benford's 27 charges were related to allegedly transmitting the disease to seven victims. According to documents from Vigo Superior Court Div. 6 this morning, Benford agrees to plead guilty to six felony charges of battery by bodily waste and one robbery charge. According to the proposed agreement, the robbery charge carries a six year prison sentence. The transmitting HIV related charges carries a 24-year prion sentence, with 10 years suspended. He also faces 10 years of formal probation.The proposed plea agreement was offered just before trial. This story will be updated as more information becomes available. Comments are closed.
