Indiana Central News An investigation into a report of a suspicious person armed with a knife on Terre Haute's north side late last night resulted in one arrest. Charles E. Decker, 31, of Terre Haute, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 12:30 a.m. He is charged with criminal confinement with a deadly weapon, intimidation, domestic battery and unlawful possession of syringe. Vigo Co. Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a gas station located at Lafayette and Park Avenues just before 11 p.m. A suspect with a knife was reported at the scene. Witnesses identified him as Charlie Decker, according to scanner traffic. He fled prior to officers' arrival. Deputies apprehended Decker just after midnight. The suspect has been booked into the Vigo County Jail multiple times. Previous charges include robbery in 2005 and murder in 2010 -- when he fatally stabbed a 24-year-old man, according to court documents. In that case, he subsequently pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of battery with a deadly weapon. Decker is scheduled to appear in Div 5 Court this morning. Comments are closed.
