Indiana Central News A Terre Haute man was arrested on several charges after police allege he had an estimated $1,000 worth of cocaine in his possession during a traffic stop in the city late last night. Fredrick S. Johnson, 30, was booked into the Vigo County Jail at about 2 a.m He faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated (misdemeanor); operating a motor vehicle while never licensed (misd); possession of cocaine (level 4 felony); and open container violation (infraction.) Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts explained that troopers Tim Rader and Courtland Woodruff stopped the northbound gold 2004 Chevrolet passenger car for allegedly disregarding a traffic control signal at 14th Street at Wabash Avenue just before midnight. "Troopers noticed what appeared to be signs of intoxication. Johnson was taken into custody and during his arrest, troopers located approximately 10.7 grams of suspected cocaine in Johnson’s pants pocket," Watts said, noting that a chemical test revealed Johnson had a BAC of .11 percent.
