UPDATE 12-10-19-- Terre Haute police investigation revealed suspect Lewis Johnson,48, and the victim had gotten into a fight outside of the residence. Johnson allegedly went in the house and got a gun.
"Johnson then exited his home and fired four shots at the victim, striking him in the foot," according to a Terre Haute Police Department spokesman. Johnson was booked into the Vigo County Jail just after midnight and charged with aggravated battery and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. -- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News One person was injured in a shooting near Indiana State University's campus tonight in Terre Haute --resulting in a suspect being taken into custody. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non- life threatening injuries, according to scanner traffic. The suspect also reported injuries, from a cut on his arm suffered in the incident. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at N. Eighth Street and First Avenue around 8 p.m. According to scanner traffic, the suspect, described as a black male, was taken into custody a short time later by Vigo County Sheriff's Office deputies. The investigation is ongoing. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available from the Terre Haute Police Department. Comments are closed.
