Indiana Central News A Terre Haute Police Department murder investigation led detectives to believe fugitive suspect Kenneth R. Pitts Jr. was staying at a camp site in Nevada. It proved correct. Members of the Las Vegas Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Pitts last night on the Vigo County Warrant and in connection to killing 77-year-old Alice "Anita" Oswald -- reported missing in November. She was found dead inside a submerged vehicle in January. THPD Assistant Chief Shawn Keen explained the suspect is currently being held in the Clark County, Nevada Jail, He was apprehended after investigators contacted law enforcement in Laughlin, Nevada for assistance. "In the coming days, we will be working with the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office to secure his extradition," Keen said, noting the department is grateful for help from the public and other departments for assistance in the case.
