UPDATE- 12/30/19: Court documents identify Paul D. Aubin, 52, of Terre Haute, as the suspect in the Christmas Day mail theft case. He has not been booked into the Vigo County Jail on the charges as of 10 p.m. However, probable cause has been found for aggravated battery, auto theft and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, according to court documents filed today. --- UPDATE 12/26/19: Terre Haute Police Department confirms today that the incident occurred in Wyndham subdivision on Christmas after alleged package thieves were caught in the act. A resident shot at the suspect vehicle in retaliation, injuring one suspect after the suspect struck him with the car. Names have not been released at this time. --- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News The Terre Haute Police Department set up a perimeter around Deming Park as they searched for three suspects Christmas Morning. This is a developing story, and information is limited at this time. However, one suspect was located in the woods near the swimming pool in the park around 9:30 a.m. Paramedics arrived to transport the man to the hospital after reportedly being found with a gunshot wound. One victim was reportedly found in a subdivision nearby with a head injury. He and the suspect were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The call was dispatched around 7:30 a.m. as a report of the suspects in a red Ford Mustang. Once police arrived on scene, they discovered a car with blood and holes, according to scanner traffic. The search for suspects began with descriptions of a male and female wearing Carhart jacket and a hoodie. An older male was reportedly believed to have the gunshot wound and was located in the woods. Two possible suspects matching the other two suspects were detained. Indiana State University Police, Terre Haute Fire Department and Vigo County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
