See related story -- UPDATE: Members of the Terre Haute Police Department responded to the report of a suspicious male and female in the area of Walnut Street and Gilbert Avenue at about 8 a.m. today, According to Chief Shawn Keen. "The caller indicated that the two were seen carrying several items and attempting to discard a dirt bike in a nearby dumpster. An officer of the Terre Haute Police Department located the male and while speaking with him the male pushed the officer to the ground before fleeing on foot," Keen explained. The officer continued to chase the suspect and learned from witnesses in the area that the male had entered a residence at 130 S 14th Street. A perimeter was quickly established around the residence and continued until the warrant was issued at about 11 a.m. --- Terre Haute Police officers as well as Indiana State Police were on the scene of a south side residence to execute a search warrant for a man they believe is connected to several burglaries in the area. After several attempts to get the suspect to cooperate, officers forced their way into the home at 130 S. 14th Street. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after. Public Information Officer Ryan Adamson said, at the scene, that several other people were inside the house at the time of police arrival. The are not believed to be associated to crimes. Detectives remain at the scene, as the investigation is continuing. More information will be provided once it becomes available. Comments are closed.
