![]() A Brazil man is in the Vigo County Jail today after allegedly stabbing another man in Seelyville Saturday night. James P. Brenton, 36, was arrested for the stabbing incident by Vigo County Sheriff's detectives before 7 a.m. Sunday morning. He is charged with aggravated battery. The victim, Robert Britton, 39, was flown by Lifeline to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he is being treated for injuries suffered during the incident, which took place at a Seelyville residence. According to scanner traffic that night, the victim's wound is located on his back and he was found to be be bleeding excessively at the time emergency crews arrived at the scene. The Vigo County Sheriff's Office is investigating the stabbing which occurred at a residence near the intersection of Spence Avenue and Tabortown Road, very close to where the Kellogg's Snack factory is located. In fact, the Lifeline helicopter landed on the church property across the street from there. According to a report by the Vigo County Sheriff's Office, Central Dispatch received a 911 call from a female just before 10 p.m. Saturday reporting that her husband had been stabbed. The Vigo County Sheriffs Office was assisted by Lost Creek Volunteer Fire Dept; TransCare Ambulance and LifeLine. Comments are closed.
