-- By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A semi truck crash in northern Vigo County this evening left emergency crews scampering to corral about 60 cows roaming the area, according to scanner traffic. Vigo County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police and Otter Creek Fire Department personnel were dispatched to N. US 41 and Evans Avenue after the semi driver hauling the livestock left the roadway and rolled over around 5 p.m. According to OCFD press release, the driver was not injured. However, several cows were killed in the crash. Due to a vehicle that reportedly was stopped in the roadway, the driver had to slow quickly and drive around the vehicle. "This caused the cattle to shift and the semi left the roadway rolling on its side,' the press release states. The area was closed to traffic as crews remained at the scene. Comments are closed.
