Indiana Central News PUTNAM COUNTY -- Emergency crews responded to a single -vehicle crash injuring two in Putnam County this afternoon. Tyler L. Peters, 21, of Vincennes, and his passenger, Kenneth A. Smothers, 20, of Terre Haute, were both transported to a Terre Haute hospital by Putnam County Operation Life paramedics for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash. According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Joe Watts, Peters complained of arm pain and contusions and Smothers complained of a leg injury. ISP and Putnam County emergency agencies responded to the pickup truck crash on westbound US 40 near County Road 325 West around 1:45 p.m. Peters was westbound on US 40 in a white 2006 Ford pickup, pulling a trailer loaded with a residential mower. "Suddenly, the trailer began to weave, causing Peters to lose control and rollover. A blown trailer tire may have been the cause," Watt said, noting that both men were cited for failure to wear seatbelts. Comments are closed.
