UPDATE 6-7-19: More charges of criminal mischief are pending for the street preacher as he is charged with vandalism to multiple businesses along Wabash Avenue downtown. Police say Larry M. Faulkner allegedly broke windows of the businesses in recent weeks.
Faulkner's most recent arrest was Wednesday at 10 a.m. He is charged with three counts of criminal mischief and one count of criminal trespass, according to jail records. -- Original story published 6/2/19 By Lucy Perry Indiana Central News A street preacher known around Terre Haute was arrested again today, outside of a local bar. Larry M. Faulkner, 37, was booked into the Vigo County Jail around 6:30 p.m. He is charged with criminal mischief. This is not the first time Faulkner was arrested just outside of Sonka's Irish Pub on Wabash Avenue . In fact, back in 2002, he was arrested outside the same bar after allegedly causing a disturbance at the business while preaching to customers. Faulkner has been arrested 17 times since 2002, according to the jail records. In fact, he was charged with criminal trespass just four days ago. In addition to bars, he is also known to frequent other local businesses around the city and Indiana State University's campus. Faulkner is described as a very bold preacher, reportedly often heard yelling insults to passersby and warning them that they are going to Hell for drinking alcohol and engaging in premarital sex, for example.
